M-3 and LAPAN Sign an MoU in the Production of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

Jakarta, April 13th, 2015 – PT Mandiri Mitra Muhibbah (M-3) and The Indonesian National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) today signed an MoU for the development and implementation of science and technology in Indonesia. The signing ceremony was represented Drs. I. L. Arisdiyo, M.Si. of LAPAN and Ir. Tjahjono Darmohusodo, the President Director of M-3, held at Graha Widya Bhakti, PUSPIPTEK area, Serpong, South Tangerang – Banten.

The signing ceremony was held along with the event of “National Innovation Forum 2015” at the same time and place, whereas M-3 also participated in the forum. This event was attended by The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo, and the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Prof. Muhammad Nasir.

M-3, in working with LAPAN, has the competence and good will in the synergy to produce the result of research and engineering development (Litbangyasa) of aero technology, as well as in promoting the result to the market. PTTA is able to be controlled from a distance and able to control itself by using autopilot mode.

“We have commitments to support the government in the program of development and implementation of IPTEK in Indonesia. The MoU between M-3 and LAPAN is one of the commitments that we have. With our experience and capability, we are confident that we are able to produce high-quality UAV, and prove that Indonesia is able to compete internationally” said T. Budi Santosa, M.B.A., the President Commissioner of PT Mandiri Mitra Muhibbah.

The UAV units that M-3 produces will be fully made in Indonesia, with a lower cost compared to purchasing UAV from abroad. This partnership also supports the development of local industry, especially in the development and implementation of science in Indonesia.

Established in 2002, PT Mandiri Mitra Muhibbah is a company that offers special service in the repair and maintenance of electronic communication systems and weapon system of the Indonesian Military (TNI).

In supporting TNI, M-3 has been producing Target Drones since 2005. Target Drone is a high-speed military attack aircraft used as a shooting target during joint military training using anti-aircraft gun and guided weapon system.
